Wednesday Words of Wisdom With MD 9/8/2021

Do you ever feel so tired that you can't think? Do you ever wonder how Jesus felt after the Last Supper? He knew what was coming, but He stayed awake with His Apostles, teaching them until the bitter end. I did not sleep much last night. I know what school assignments I have coming, but they pale compared to what our Lord went through those final 48 hours. My son, who is training to be a Commercial Pilot, asked me if I had indeed stayed up all night. He informed me that his Bible teacher once told him that "nothing is more important to learning than sleep". I believe what she meant was that we need to get our priorities right, and once we do that, sleep will be a welcome respite. Jesus had his priorities right. His sacrifice of being tired, probably exhausted both mentally and physically, led Him to the cross, and if you will, to sleep for three days, only to rise again. Aren't you glad Jesus was tired? Aren't you glad Jesus "slept" for three days? Aren't you glad He rose again! We can all learn so many lessons from how He endured so much, yet asked so little. All He wants is US! He wants us to be so tired of sin that we constantly desire His presence. What a blessed thought! JESUS WANTS US!! In Matthew 11, Jesus prays, "All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light" (Matthew 11:27-30, NIV). My prayer for you this week is that you find rest, HIS rest.

Have a Blessed Wednesday!

Until next week,

The word "rejoice" has been on my mind all week. David wrote in Psalm 35:9, "And my soul shall rejoice in the LORD; It shall exult in His salvation." He continues in 118:24 "This is the day which the
